Church View Campsite
Situated in West Suffolk in between Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket and just 2 miles off the main A14. Church View offers 4 acres of lawn set in the grounds of Suffolk Academy, a sports and entertainment centre with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. It will appeal not only to those looking for a place to relax and appreciate the views but also to the more energetic who will enjoy walking or cycling along surrounding quiet lanes. There is the option of a daily Gym membership which is open 24 hours a day at a cost of £5.
Showers and toilets are available 24 hrs a day. The local village of Barrow is 0.6 miles away and has two pubs, The 3 Horseshoes which serves local ales and pub grub and the prestigious Weeping Willow who do a high end quality meal and service. There are also two general stores, post office with a cafe and a fish and chip shop.
The site is only 50m from the 1000 year old Barrow Church, hence our name, 8 miles from historic Bury St Edmunds and 7 miles from the countries racehorse capital Newmarket.
You will be made very welcome by your hosts Glen and Julie who enjoy the sociable aspect of running a campsite. In the majority of cases the answer is always ‘Yes’.

The towns of Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket are only a 15 minute drive away. Cambridge around 30 mins. All with a wealth of history and activities.
Turn off A14 at junction 40 signposted Barrow. Take the slip road and turn at the t junction signposted Barrow on the Coalpit Lane leading on to Colethorpe lane. Follow for 2.0 miles and turn left at Barrow School into Church Road signposted Risby and follow for 400 yards until you see Barrow Church (pictured above) in front of you. Where the road bears right at the church you turn sharp left into the entranceway of the CL and up the ramp into the car park. Please note that Church Road by the school is very narrow and busy around school times.
