The premises have been developed over the last few years by the owner Glen Moulds who had always wanted his own Academy to train his elite athlets from the karate Club.
The buildings were originally empty breezeblock pig sheds and it took Glen 9 months to personally build and develop the 2 units.
Unit 1 hosts the main reception, office, toilets and showers, bar, restaurant and the main studio which is used by the karate club (see menu under sports) and the Kendo club.
Unit 2 hosts the 24 hour Life Fitness gym and studio 2 where the Ann Holland School of Theatre Dance practice.
The Academy also boasts an archery range and football pitch used by The Academy youth football team.
The Academy is also home to The Great Barrow Challenge in June 2015 which involves running 10 marathons (26.2 miles) or 10 Ultra's (32 miles) in 10 days, other 4 and single days are also available as are several half marathons. See GBC on the menu above
It is also the home to Homegrown Music Festival which is held on the August bank Holiday every year where thousands of music loving fans emerge on the grounds for a super weekend of live music and partying. See festival on the menu above
The Academy recently opened its own Caravan Park under the Caravan Club. This 'certified location' accepts only caravan club members and is ideally located for easy access to Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and Cambridge
The Suffolk Academy is also an ideal wedding venue being opposite the beautiful 1000 year old village church.
